MARC (Minority Access to Research Careers) Travel Awards
The FASEB MARC Program will be sponsoring ABRF 2011 Travel Awards to help support the participation of full-time faculty/mentors, postdoctoral fellows, and students from minority institutions (MIs) and historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The travel awards are funded (up to $1,650 per award) for travel-related expenses and meeting registration. Travel awards are provided as reimbursements after the meeting. The travel awards are supported by a federal training grant from the NIGMS, NIH; therefore, only U.S. citizens and permanent residents of the U.S. are eligible to receive travel award funding. Underrepresented minority faculty, students and postdoctoral fellows from majority institutions are also eligible to apply for the travel awards. For travel award information and application forms, visit the MARC website, or contact marcssm@faseb.org.
The deadline for applications is January 7, 2011.
* Qualified ethnic minority groups that are identified as being underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences include: African Americans, Alaskan Natives, Hispanic Americans, American Indians/Native Americans and Natives of the U.S. Pacific Islands (Guam, Hawai'i, or American Samoa).
